There has been serious congestion for traffic leaving the Research Park in the evenings.  This started on Monday 16 August 2010.

The congestion is as a result of works being carried out by EDF who are laying a new High Voltage cable across Egerton Road to the West of the Tesco roundabout.  We have asked if they can place metal plates over the trenches they are excavating after 4.00pm in order to open up both lanes approaching the Tesco roundabout thereby relieving the traffic congestion.

EDF’s subcontractor, NACAP, are aware of the problems caused by these works and we are hopeful that they will do their best to increase the traffic flow in the evenings.  They have told us that the works around the roundabout will be complete by the middle of next week.

  • Traffic from the research park in the evening is rubbish without the roadworks.  The people in charge should put another entrance/exit road in and fix this.  Common sense but the research park management don't have any, they don't have a clue.

    simple...!!!

  • Hi Paul

I monitor the website on behalf of the Research Park and if it was a simple matter to construct another exit, we would have done so years ago - we have the same problems as everyone else leaving the Park. I recently posted Dr Parry's response to the traffic situation - perhaps you were not aware of its content?

     Update traffic situation

Constructive comments and observations are always welcome on this forum.
