This section provides some information regarding the use of the SRP Extranet. Many pages contain contextual help in a sidebar. For example if you click the people link in the navigation bar you will see some help under the headers rotating picture banner in a left sidebar. If contextual help is available this sidebar will always be present. In the sidebar you will find links which, once clicked, will appear in a small overlay on the current page and contain explanatory text and sometimes images regarding the selected help topic. Please see the instructional videos for detailed guides on how to use both general and specific features. Below is a pictorial overview of how to make best use of this site, followed by some easy "getting started" steps.

Follow these easy steps to get started:

1. Firstly you should register on this site if you are a part of the Surrey Research Park Community. Once registered, login and create your personal profile (click on your name top right and then the edit button just next to it) and under the organisation field, type in a few letters of your company's name. If it already exists it will pop up so you can add a connection to it.
   
   
2. If a company profile does not exist for your company yet and you are an approved representative for a company who is a tenant at SRP (we will be monitoring this), create a profile for it in the companies section and then go back and edit your personal profile to connect to the company.
   
   
3. If you are a supplier to the companies on the research park and want to join, follow the same 2 steps as above but select supplier in the company profile setup instead.
   
   
4. Once you have added a personal profile linked to a company or supplier profile you can create notices or forum topics and encourage discussion around these.
   
   
5. Use the home page as a dashboard to follow recent activity or subscribe to this site's RSS feeds (simplest is to subscribe vie your browser - click on RSS icon to right of site address).
   
   
6. If you get stuck and the help section and the various instructions within each of the sections don't help, contact the site administrator.
   
   
7. Keep in mind the policy governing the use of this site and behave professionally at all times. The administrator will be monitoring the site constantly and can delete inappropriate users or offensive content at will.
